Interview with Vikrant Of Underside a Nepali Metal Band....

•How did the band UNDERSIDE come to life? Is there is any specific event which helped you guys to bring this monster out
It was around 2010 we got together and started jamming... But hadn't thought about forming a band... But as we started everything felt like we should start a band kind of thing, so here we are now... Four years after. Kicking everyone’s rash…

•What it makes you to choose the name “UNDERSIDE”? What is the ideology of the band and with what ideology does the band name stand for the band?
Nothing special... it was just a random name that Abishek came with... And we all felt good about this name... Not too much aggressive but still deep under...

•Do you remember you first show? How it felt to be in front playing and singing again?
As far as I know it was that dehumanization gig at silence street.. Felt alive and was an amazing moment...

•Who Create lyrics of song in the band? What is your Inspirational point to make those words into a beautiful song of composition?
Abishek does all the lyrics. As he is the vocalist and he is good at that.. So, we let him create his own lines to speak…
I guess it’s a daily living thing that u get into, you experience, happiness, anger, frustration...can be anything…

•Normally people consider you as a Metal Core band but some time it is heard that you are Thrash Metal? Is this thing is true?
What is metal core...? Can’t explain you really... we do what we like... there is no boundaries when making music... music we make is just a mélange of old school and new…might be thrash, rock, blues etc…

•How you and your band define Metal Music?
Something that we all like and are good at I guess...

•After doing many gigs in Kathmandu, and going on world tour and Evolving to life tour…What are you planning for 2013-14; any song release, Album Lunch or Tour?
Ep release... Australian tour in November and may more tour coming in 2014.

•How was the feeling of world tour and Evolving to Life tour? Which is the gig which you even have enjoyed and have seen a good support from the people?
Was amazing... We had such a fun... Every gig we did went amazingly well... our fans are so loyal and crazy at the same... We love them all…

•What you guys are doing these days?
Making new songs.. Practicing and getting ready for our Australian tour...

•What is your influence? Which band, Guitarists make you think oh, I can be like this one... ha ha ha
Influences can be anything, any kind of music. I have been listening to the bands like Mumford and Sons, Alt-j, C2C these days and they are totally out of what we usually play.
Pantera, Dimebag and Van Halen are my man (Vikrant)...

•In general Metal is mot like and appreciated by society what are your opinions for this?
We really don't give a big fuck... If our fans like us that’s more than enough for us...

•Metal band are struggling to survive in the scene? Many good bands have been disbanded? What is your feeling in this? Did your guys have such experience till the date?
We are still alive and kicking... And we hope for the best... One day at a time…

•Wanna sy something to the fan around the world?
Support us, like you always did to us...

Bibek: - Are you supported by your family and friends as a metal head and a musician?
Sandeep: - Yes, for what I will be now supported for.. I am very much supported as a musician by my friends and family.

Bibek: - There are many lovers of X-Mantra in Nepal; I would love to know which X-Mantra’s Guitarist best Nepali band is.
Sandeep: - For me Nepali best band is Kutumba they drive me go crazy be their true Nepali Typical music.. I just love the way they bring a different felling inside a people by their typical Music.

Bibek: - Which musician or band inspired you to be a guitarist?
Sandeep: - Joe Satriani, Stevevai, Paul Gilbert as guitarist...
And there are many bands to whom I fell in love with haha but I love to take few name like Slipknot, Dream Theater, Children of Bodom and the so on...

Bibek: - As a musician did you see metal and rock band has there future here in Nepal?
Sandeep: - Currently, every musicians are struggling here in Nepal. But it’s in the phase of improvement, Music scenario and its scope is growing slowly... And we r very close to the future, when musicians in Nepal will have a proper place here... Where a band should not be undergrounded and should not play gigs for free... Where the talent of a musician is cheered up by every people…

Bibek: - How you fell when sound system are blamed by bands, viewers and even the organiser for bad sound though they have given their best?
Sandeep: - It’s not a sound system to be blamed; Bands should have proper knowledge on using the resources that are provided, as best as they could... Band should be flexible enough to adapt to any situations that might arise, in Nepal's sound systems...
But Sound system should also give their best
Both teams play a vital role in successful output

Bibek: - Which company guitar do you play?
Sandeep: - Currently I am using Ibanez rather I would say I always use Ibanez...haha

Bibek: - When you start playing is there’s good technology which make you a bit easier to learn playing guitar. Like YouTube, Guitar pro and all stuff which is used while you are learning to play instrument.
Sandeeo: - Yes, I used Guitar Pro before I started to learn and various books too, so I would say I have all the technology from which I am benefited for learning a musical instrument

Bibek: - What problem do you got when you start your band?
Sandeep: - Time, practice room, and of course proper gadgets and instruments…Which create too much problem to make band stable and many good band even deform just because they are not able to manage all that things..

Bibek: - Normally in people thinks unsuccessful person and drugs addict join metal and rock. How you feel when you know about this sort of people thinking?
Sandeep: - I don't smoke nor I take drugs and that means I am not a Musician...
And there are many metal bands and musicians who don't even drink too... So people should not think that sort of thinks and also unsuccessful people joining metal rock show I don’t even have degree and even a job but what am I... I work, I have my degree and also I a musician. So all that is just wrong thinking of people…

Bibek: - How you fell when people notice you and have some talk with you as X-Mantra’s guitarist?
Sandeep: - I feel good, of course... It is my proud that people know Sandeep Tuladhar as a Metal band musician not a Grand Bank worker… haha

Sandeep: - Yes, we have many tours outside Nepal and also outside of valley.. But mostly our tour were in India

Bibek: - Did you played as underground musician for some time or you started as a mainstream?
Sandeep: - Yes, 6 years back I had underground band named Silenthilln and last year I did my solo project with them as well for my instrumental album…Every musician start their carrier as a underground until and unless they started to grow same thing is with me too…

Interview of Orbitron "ORBITRON" (Thrash Metal Band from USA) front man "ANDY ROMERO"....

Bibek:-When did you start playing guitar? What brings you in this kind of music?
Andy Romero: - Hmmmm I started playing Guitar on April 2008 with the inspiration of Musician like Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman...Me and my my other guitarist helped each other for learning guitar. So there never came a time for us to music school haha but we will for classical and Jazz classes...

Bibek:-Which brand guitar do you use?
Andy Romero: - Currently I using Schecter...

Bibek: - Which is your favorite band?
Andy Romero: - I love every band but I got a different feeling when ir comes to Angra...

Bibek:- Did the Andy which I see now have some trouble in his early stage as a musican?
Andy Romero:- Well not I didn't really struggle, I love doing it and want to keep doing this for the rest of my life

Bibek: - As a musican; are you supported by your friends and family?
Andy Romero: - Off course, I am supported if they won’t support why they let me live with them, and also they often visit my gigs, but since they're Christians they wanted me to play for church hahaha……….

Bibek: - What you do beside music?
Andy Romero: - Most of the time I'm playing, but when I'm not I watch anime and play some video games

Bibek:- What you find to be great problem when you start a band?
Andy Romero: - Well the hardest thing is finding cool and dedicated people. They will join you band play few gig and leave you and join another that doesn’t make any sense as a musician... So it is hard to fine people in music.

Bibek: - When you are composing your own music what do you find to be a problem?
Andy Romero: - When the ideas don't flow out, for example I'd make some riffs then I won't work on them until I feel that other riffs fit in those "riffs". Yeah it takes a while too...

Bibek: - What are problem during managing your band?
Andy Romero: - Well we don't have a manager and getting shows isn't that hard since we play local still.

Bibek:- Did your band member has been changed yet?
Andy Romero: - Yeah we've been through changes as we have changed our two drummers and we added a vocalist..

Bibek: - What it makes you to change your band member?
Andy Romero: - Well we didn't actually change him, but he went back to his family back to Mexico

Have you been paying in all of your gigs?
Andy Romero: - Yes, even once I played as a Drummer as our drummer is out for a Vacation.

Bibek: - Do your organizer pay you for your gig?
Andy Romero: - Nope, not once haha but it didn’t mean we fell bad or something like that actually, we will eventually start charging for shows, but now I'm happy when I at least see people bang their heads to our tunes. Yes! I appreciate the art, but hopefully I and the band can live off of it one day.

Bibek: - In USA what problem did metal band are facing?
Andy Romero: - Well I'd say lack of people that appreciate the music; too many people that just listen to one thing and nothing else.
So it's really hard to even decide to start a band. In the end if it's what you like doing then you'll have no problem even if you never made it big.

Bibek:- What you find to be your problem in playing guitar?
Andy Romero: - Lack of motivation. That's been my greatest weakness! haha
There's an old tip for all guitarist... It is to take breaks from it, like a day or two a week, but I hardly missed like a week or two in this whole 4-5 years of playing.
I don't practice every day either, but I play it.

Bibek:- What do you pick as most important theme to make song’s lyrics?
Andy Romero: - I don't write the lyrics, but when my mates do they are about politics, space wars, and based off of books they read. Or sometimes we would all pick a theme and they would start from scratch.

Bibek: - What is your future plan about your band?
Andy Romero: - To start touring and get recognized as a band which music has something different than other. A band who gave a new taste to music industry

Bibek:- say some words to the viewers and you fan out there?
Andy Romero:- Our music is evolving by every song we make, We will bring the goods to their ears and they won't be able to deny it haha
